LA2121L - Design IV: Ecological Design Lab
Professor Harkison
Project Date: Spring 2023
Location: Camp Scherman
At Camp Scherman, we believe in providing enriching experiences that foster personal growth and skill development for our Girl Scouts. To further this mission, we propose the addition of a fencing activity to our camp program. Fencing stands as a remarkable discipline, embodying a rich array of virtues that align perfectly with the values we aim to instill in our campers.

LIGHTING THE WAY:
A Safer and Brighter Future for the LA River
LA3111L - Design V - Landscape Systems Lab
Professor Rennie Tang
Project Date: Fall 2023
Location: Frogtown - LA River
Exploring the LA River this semester has truly revealed the stunning beauty of our surroundings, especially as the sun dips below the horizon. Witnessing the vibrant community of Frogtown engaging in their daily bike rides, strolls, and heartwarming reunions with old friends has been a profound experience. Amidst this dynamic atmosphere, I couldn't help but notice several aspects that could enhance our early evenings, drawing from my aspirations as a future landscape architect.
One significant proposal involves the implementation of gentle, ambient lighting designed to softly illuminate the surroundings. This lighting scheme would prioritize subtlety, ensuring it remains unobtrusive to both the residents of the neighborhood and the delicate ecosystem of small creatures inhabiting the area.
